Post-Abatement Verification (PAV) reports for residential and commercial properties for the City of Detroit's demolition program. Each row in this table represents a "Passed" PAV Report which indicates the property had sufficient Asbestos and Hazardous and Regulated Materials (HAZMAT) abatement performed. This data is provided by the Detroit Construction and Demolition Department. Before a property is contracted for demolition, an Asbestos Survey is performed to identify and test potential Hazardous and Regulated Materials (HAZMAT) within the structure. The report also outlines the location and quantities of the hazardous materials that should be abated before the demolition takes place. The Demolition Contractor performs the Asbestos and HAZMAT abatement. The PAV Contractor then performs an inspection of the building to verify that the materials outlined in the Asbestos Survey were adequately abated. For planned demolitions, the passed PAV Report must be publicly available online 3 days prior to the demolition of the structure. Buildings that have been issued an Emergency Demolition Order by the Building Safety Engineering and Environmental Department (BSEED) are exempt from this requirement. For more information on the demolition process please refer to: https://detroitmi.gov/departments/construction-and-demolition-department/demolition-process
